We’re trading in our beach towels for backpacks and our sunscreen for notebooks - it’s almost time for back to school! Stuck in lazy summer mode and not completely prepared for the upcoming school season? Follow these few tips to get back on track for the fall:

Stock up on supplies: Pencils, pens, binders, notebooks - we all know that one of the best parts about going back to school is having fresh new supplies. Make a list of what you need and bring it along with you so that you won’t forget anything. Not good with paper lists? We’re huge fans of Wunderlist, an app that allows your to create and share lists, which is a lifesaver if you’re splitting up school supply shopping with someone else.

Prepare your wardrobe: You know that fall is in the air when all of the back-to-school sales pop up. Make a grand entrance on campus by stocking up on fall weather favorites - and when the temperatures drop, take a few moments to go through your closet and sort out those summer clothes you won’t be wearing again until next spring.

Buy a planner: A planner is a lifesaver when it comes to juggling classes, homework, after-school activities, work, and the social scene. It’s the perfect way to keep your active life all in one place, and it’s always convenient to have a portable calendar to take along with you. We totally get the convenience of using the calendar on your smartphone, but trust us, a gorgeous planner and a nice pen are kind of life-changing.

Make enough time for breakfast: You know what they say - it’s the most important meal of the day! Make sure you allow yourself enough time for breakfast to keep you energized throughout the early morning. Avocado toast, smoothies, or egg breakfast muffins are all simple but delicious meals for your busy schedule! Check out more breakfast ideas here.

Meal prep your lunches: By spending an hour on Sunday preparing grab’n’go lunches ahead of time, you won’t have to scramble in the morning trying to blearily pull together a reasonably healthy meal. Need inspiration? From salads to soups to pitas and everything in between, these recipes will make for weeks of delicious lunches.

Go to bed early: That 6:00 a.m. alarm isn’t as daunting when you get a peaceful night’s sleep. Planning ahead at night, like picking out your outfit for the next day to save time in the morning and cutting yourself off from the blue light of screens (which tells your brain to stay awake) an hour before bedtime will make mornings all that much more bearable.
